How is soil used in your community?

If you live in an urban area, the study of your soils was important in determining how and where to build buildings and homes.

If you live in a farming community, you get to see farmers plowing, planting, and/or amending their soil every year.

If you live near a river you might see structures built to help keep the soil on either side of the river from eroding away.
